| ++ Too Busy to Think |
I just can't even stop long enough to think about anything these days. A lot has been going on in the past three weeks but for some reason I just couldn't find the time to write about it all. I'm going to try my best to cover it all in this entry, so it may be a little long. Sorry to anyone who hates long entries. Alright first off, Landon and his colic… I thought I had seen the end of it… No such luck. Though I admit that it has calmed down significantly, It’s still there. So Last week, in attempt to try once again to get rid of it I went shopping for yet ANOTHER remedy. This stuff was called INFACOL, and it worked for the first few days. An then came the constipation… Frigin’ stuff plugged him up real good the poor sweetheart. So after 4 days of no number 2’s I decided to give TELE-CARE a call. They were so amazingly helpful! I am so glad this service exists in New Brunswick. So the nurse gave me three things I can try to “unclog him”. First thing was something called a SITZ BATH with 2oz of baking soda. This apparently helps soften the tissue down there to make it easier to go. The second thing was baby Pear juice (up to 2oz a day) to help loosen things up. And the final thing was stimulation of his little bum with a flexible anal thermometer… I have to admit, the latter did not sound appealing to myself and I was sure Landon wouldn’t appreciate it either… but he was in so much pain I had to try it non the less. Thank god by that evening he had finally had a number 2!! Since then I am continuing to give him one or two ounces of pear juice daily just to keep him regular. :D So, moving away from that poopy topic lol, the next thing on my mind is the premiers of the shows this fall. Now that I’ve watched 2 episodes of ONE TREE HILL, 2 episodes of GOSSIP GIRL, and 2 hours of 90210, I can honestly say that I’m really liking what’s come out so far!! Number one on my list for premiers is Gossip Girl due to the Blaire and Chuck storyline. However, One Tree Hill’s second episode blew everyone else out of the water! (no spoilers to anyone who didn’t see it, don’t worry) Episode number 2 for 90210 is tonight. I’ll be giving it a couple of episodes before I decide if it’s right for me. So far, it certainly is interesting and definitely something I think I would enjoy watching. Next series premier I’ll be trying is Privileged, airing tonight. I’ll let you guys know what I think next time I post. Can’t wait for Supernatural! About three weeks ago I discovered that my engagement ring had a lose diamond and so I had to send it away to be repaired. Today it’s back and I’m soooo happy to have it back on my finger. Does anyone have any idea how annoying it is to be recently engaged and not have a ring to show people. Embarrassing! LOL I went back to weight watchers 3 weeks ago now. So far I’ve lost 8lbs! I’m hoping to be at my goal weight (135 lbs) by my wedding date, April 18th, 2009. I’m currently 174.2 lbs. Frigin’ baby weight! I got a lot of work ahead of me but I know I can do it. :D |

| ++ A Necklace Saved My Sanity |
Ok so there’s this AMAZING piece of Mi'kmaq First Nation jewelry I picked up on the Reserve on Thursday. It's called "The Baby Teething Necklace". It's a handcrafted necklace made with beads and hazelwood. I’m truly at a loss for words when I tell you that Landon is a new baby!! The necklace is commonly used for teething but in fact works for just about anything that may be bothering your baby. Landon’s been teething along with the colic lately, so I figured it couldn’t hurt to try. Being that my town is located right next to the Rez, it wasn’t hard to get a hold of one. So many people around here use them for their babies and now I know why. Wow!! I’m truly not kidding when I tell you guys that my baby is cured of all his ailments. Here’s how it works: Apparently hazelwood has the medicinal property of neutralizing the body's acidity, which by doing so, relieves or prevents all kinds of ailments like ulcers, acid reflux, heartburn, teething, skin problems (psoriasis, eczema, acne), arthritis and arthrosis, constipation, migraines, and dental cavities. Which I guess is the reason why it’s working for the colic too. Here’s a picture of Landon sporting his new necklace. And Smiling no less... LOL. ![]() Here's some pictures of him happy; something he's been a lot of lately. YAY! ![]() ![]() Filed Under: Motherhood

| ++ Engaged! |
Holy crazy life! I just can’t seem to get the time to get on here and write an entry let alone change the layout. And I really want to change the layout bad. But I’ve decided to wait till the new season in September and add one then. [EDIT] As you can tell I have a new layout!! My sister was so nice as to offer to creat a header for me after she read this entry. I LOVE you Lisa! [EDIT] So, I have A LOT to talk about. First off, for those who never knew, Hubby and I were never officially married. We are what you call common-law husband and wife (The government likes to call us that so they can get the same amount of money out of us that they get from married couples). Anyways, around two weeks ago, Ryan proposed to me! Finally!! LOL I’m so excited! The wedding is in April 2009 but I’m still unsure of the actual date. I wanted to post a picture of the ring but my camera doesn’t want to focus on it like it should so it always comes out blurry. I’m going to have to get someone with a good camera to take the picture for me. So as soon as I can I will get it up on the site. [EDIT] I got my brother to take a picture on my ring with his HARD CORE camera that he spent a lot more than $50 for. LOL. Anyways, here's my ring! [EDIT] ![]() So...Landon has colic :( and it’s really hard to deal with. I’ve been truly drained this last week trying to deal with it and not become frustrated. Because as you know, it’s not his fault that he’s colicky but at the same time it’s soooo hard to deal with. So today is my first “day off” in 7 weeks and 3 days because Hubby’s parents took Landon for the day. We’ll be going to pick him up tonight at around 10. I really have to say, I love my son, but am I ever enjoying this day off from Mommyhood. Hubby and I have some romantic plans so I’m going to end this entry now cause we don’t get to spend much time together anymore and I really am looking forward to it. |

| ++ 4 Weeks Later |
I want to begin by saying that I am in love with my child. he is the love of my life and nothing can ever change that; it is unconditional. That being said, I NEVER anticipated how amazingly difficult it is to take care of a newborn 24/7. I am drained physically and emotionally. And so is Hubby. Adjusting to the baby in our lives has been a difficult transition for our relationship. This honestly had never been an issue I had considered would happen. We bicker a lot now, which is something that we never used to do. Random situations have caused us to not speak to one another for hours if not an entire evening. He no longer sleeps in the bedroom with me when he has to work because the baby wakes every hour and he can't function at work without sleep. On his days off he'll sleep in the bedroom with me but that is only twice a week and when you're taking care of a newborn, those days feel few and far in between. I'm finally beginning to feel as though I'm getting the hang of motherhood and have gotten a hang of the routines as well as can be expected. The first month has been a pile of stress, however. between breastfeeding, recuperating from a c-section, and preparing to be in our best friend's wedding, we were overwhelmed. And as much as we LOVE Nessa and Eric, I have to say I am happy for it to be over with. (As I am sure they are as well) Needless to say, I think this entry pretty well sums up why it's been sooooo long since I've written anything. But now I'm happy to say, aside from adjustments we need to make in our relationship, I think it's finally all coming together and my mom tells me that what Hubby and I are going through is normal too, and will work itself out in time. On Friday Landon will be 4 weeks old. It goes by so fast. Thanks to everyone who's posted their wonderful comments about my beautiful boy. I will be trying to get back into my old routine of posting weekly from now on. I miss reading about all of your lives and what's going on. I can't wait to visit all of your blogs once again!
